Established in May 2010, Haskell County Ambulance Service was a joint effort of both Satanta’s Ambulance Board and Sublette’s Hospital Board along with the Haskell County Commissioners. All parties involved were aware that it was not financially responsible to tax the residents of Haskell County for two separate ambulance services that were already assisting each other on a regular basis. In early 2010, everyone agreed to transfer all assets to Haskell County to create Haskell County Ambulance Service. Since the combining of both departments, Haskell County was able to establish an Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service throughout the entire county and both communities. Haskell County Ambulance Service is a combination department, meaning that it consists of both full-time and volunteer personnel. There are five ambulances in the county: two in Sublette, two in Satanta, and one at Lockport, with all being equipped as Advanced Life Support Units. Haskell County is able to provide Advanced Life Support for 911 calls and interfacility transports between hospitals.
